That guy on the ten dollar bill...

We’ve heard this guy’s name from somewhere – Alexander Hamilton. He’s on the US ten-dollar bill; maybe he was in some famous duel or something…

And that’s pretty much all I knew about him before composing the score for the upcoming PBS special “Alexander Hamilton”. Turns out he was a pretty fascinating figure in history. Hamilton led a major battle, probably saved the US from economic collapse, and had a torrid love affair… all of which gave me an opportunity to write some pretty diverse music for this film.

Below are a few short music samples from the score - from a battle scene (“Whiskey Rebellion”) to the night when Hamilton lost his only love (“Lonely Night”).
