One more thing I know almost nothing about...

This month (check your local listings) PBS premieres “The Adventists”, an in-depth look at the history and culture of Seventh Day Adventists. Ok, I’ll admit it – before I started composing music for this film I knew almost nothing about this religion (I guessed that the “seventh day” thing meant that they worshipped on Saturdays, but that was about it).
Turns out that Adventists are among the healthiest and longest living people on the planet, because of their diet and strong work ethic. In addition, Adventists are pioneers in medical technology and health care exploration, and consider their medical work to be “sacred work”, fully a part of their hope and faith.
If you get a chance, take a look at the show when it airs on PBS. My guess is that you’ll be as surprised as I was. And before I forget, since the main reason I’m writing this email is to “hawk my wares” as a composer, I suppose I should give you a few of the background music cues to listen to - you can hear a few music samples from the film, below.
Enjoy the show!
